Trip to Pistyll Rhaeadr, North Wales

We went to Pistyll Rhaeadr on Tuesday. Left our home quite late around 11.30 a.m. and reached there around 1.30 p.m. We parked our car  at the car park which costed 2.00 gbp for the day and the road up the the waterfall is a single car road.  Pistyll Rhaeadr is the tallest waterfall in England and Wales.

This is my 2nd trip up there and now it was summer we had a longer day but unfortunately, it was raining. I am surprised that this summer holidays and there wasn't a lot of tourists. This times we go into the middle of the pool to took the pool shots and then instead of crossing the black iron bridge we turned to the right into the hills where there is a direction pointing to the top of the waterfall.

In the autumn, we didn't go to the top of the waterfall due to it was too misty and dark. It took us about 45 minutes to reach the top but due to it was raining there were lot of mud bogs and my shoes got sank into the mud several time and heavy rain stop us from enjoying ourselves taking photos.

We had some fruits and tea and then went into the smaller pool to wash all the mud from my shoes, trouser and shirt. We didn't bring any extra change so we were totally wet. Up the top of the hill we can see the Berwyn Mountain Ridge and then we can view the 240 ft below the pool from the top of the waterfall but must be careful as the stone were too slippery and there isn't any barrier at the edge.

After we stay for  half an hour at the top and we  walk back using the same walking trek downhill. There is another trek leading to the Berwyn Mountain Ridge but we didn't go for the mountain trek due to it already 5.00 p.m. and we still want to take some photos on the waterfall.

We stay around for another 2 hours around the waterfall and took some photos then we went back to our car to drive back home.

Pistyll Rhaeadr is so beautiful and peaceful surrounding with tress and mountains. The water from the waterfall flowing downhill, we can walk from the town up to the hill top but we didn't do that. Due to raining and mist covered the mountains top and there not a lot of tourists and a cafe near the car park where tourists can get hot drink and food but they closed at 5.00 p.m.

Though it had been raining but we had enjoyed our day out. This is a place worth a visit but unfortunately there isn't any local bus up to this waterfall but there is bus to the town and have to walk up the hills to waterfall and it about 7 miles up there from the town.
